One Small Bite at a Time

Food can create memories that will last a lifetime, not only in flavor, but also the moments they are created and shared. My dream is to be able to create these moments and memories by the experiences of my "foodie chic" lifestyle through displaying essential ingredients and stages to having success in culinary school, the tastes of local restaurants, and the sharing and creating of recipes. Similar to an amuse bouche to a meal, a dream starts small and slowly grows into extraordinary.

MMM, MMM Blondies!

Sometimes you want a good cookie but also a good brownie so why not combine them?! That's something I love about blondies. They taste like a good chocolate chip cookie but the shape and almost cake like fudgy bite can remind your mouth like a brownie. This definitely has the flavors of the tastiest cookie but more complexity than a brownie.

Ingredients

1 stick unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 large egg (room temperature)
2 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup walnuts
1 cup chocolate chunks

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 8 x 8 pan.

Mix melted butter and brown sugar until smooth and beat in the egg and vanilla.

Add the salt and stir in the flour. Gently fold in nuts and chocolate chunks.

Bake for 20-22 minutes. Once cooled I like to drizzle with chocolate ganache (which is either equal parts butter and semi sweet or milk chocolate or equal parts heavy cream and semi sweet or milk chocolate) for a little extra chocolate!

These are easy and would definitely be a hit at the next party or gathering. They are easy to whip up and so much fun to eat-enjoy!
